We have tested the I7-5820K in different environments and builds and have reached a conclusion, in this Intel Core I7 5820K Benchmark, we will present you our results based on its performance & price because both are a crucial factor.
The I7-5820K uses the older generation socket LGA 2011, Intel is known for its high-performance single-core CPUs, while AMD is known for having a ton of cores and weak single performance CPUs, and as such Intel is trying to compete in the same market as AMD and improve their Core’s and threads while trying to keep their single core performance intact which is something AMD is known for struggling with, however Intel has shown that it’s the #1 CPU brand in the world several times and the I7-5820K is here to prove it as well.

As you can see the I7-5820K has 6 Cores and 12 Threads, while also having a 3.3Ghz base frequency, yes these are just numbers, and they may not mean a thing regarding performance as seen with AMD, however after several tests, we have yet to see a single scenario where it underperforms. Since it’s also the unlocked version due to the “K” in its name you may also overclock it up to 4.4Ghz and some even reported being able to overclocking it to 4.5Ghz which will severely increase its single core performance, mix it with the 6 cores and 12 threads and you have a monster in your hands, however, make sure to take precautions when overclocking because you do not want to mess up this beast as its price is nothing to laugh about at 389$.
Intel Core I7 5820K Review & Benchmark Conclusion
After testing several games, we decided to use Battlefield 4 as a benchmark. The I7-5820K ran at an average of 140 FPS on ultra while The I7-5960x ran at 145 FPS. As you can it’s not that much of a difference while the price tag is huge for the I7-5960x, we recommend the I7-5820K as a gaming CPU, it performs well, has a good overclocking capacity & it’s “cheap” for its price.
