AMD Ryzen 5 5500X3D
AMD's quietest 3D V-Cache launch: a six-core Zen 3 chip with 96 MB of L3 but clocked lower than the 5600X3D, sold as a tray-only part for Latin America with no US retail release. It keeps an AM4 X3D option alive in those markets years after the socket's mainstream retirement.
Pros
- 96 MB of 3D V-Cache brings 5800X3D-style gaming gains to the cheapest six-core X3D chip AMD has sold
- Works in any AM4 motherboard already updated for X3D support, with no platform change needed
- 105 W default TDP keeps thermal demands reasonable for a V-Cache part
- Extends the useful life of AM4 builds in markets where the 5600X3D was never sold
Cons
- AMD lists regional availability as Latin America only, as a tray (OEM) part with no boxed retail SKU or US launch
- Lower base and boost clocks than the 5600X3D (3.0/4.0 GHz vs 3.3/4.4 GHz) cost it some gaming performance
- No cooler is included in the box
- Arrives long after AM4's mainstream retirement, so buyers still get DDR4 memory and PCIe 4.0 at a time AM5 is the current platform
