HP Victus 15 (2025)
HP's 2025 Victus 15 refresh in its Intel 15-fa2 form pairs a Core i5-13420H with an RTX 5050 Laptop GPU (8 GB GDDR7, 80W) in a gaming laptop with a 15.6-inch 1080p 144 Hz IPS screen. This record covers the 24 GB DDR5-5600, 512 GB SSD version with a 70 Wh battery and a 2.29 kg plastic body; other 15-fa2 versions and the AMD 15-fb3 use different chips and graphics.
Pros
- Two SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 slots, so memory and storage can be upgraded
- Steady CPU and GPU performance, with moderate noise and temperatures under load in review testing
- RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with 8 GB of GDDR7 and DLSS 4 support
- Includes HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet, two USB-A ports and a USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4a and Power Delivery
Cons
- The 144 Hz IPS panel is rated at 300 nits and 62.5% sRGB, so color coverage is limited
- Web browsing endurance was only about 4.3 hours in review testing despite the 70 Wh battery
- Plastic body and no SD card reader; the USB-C port runs at 5Gbps rather than USB4 or Thunderbolt
- The Core i5-13420H is a 13th-generation chip, an older platform than current Intel and AMD laptop processors
