Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 7
Lenovo's ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 is a 14-inch business laptop; this record follows the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H (Arrow Lake) version with the 2880x1800 120Hz IPS option, a 64Wh battery, Thunderbolt 4 and two RAM and two SSD slots. The AMD Ryzen version is a separate model. Lenovo announced it for April 2025 from EUR 669 excluding VAT.
Pros
- Optional 14-inch 2880x1800 IPS panel at 120Hz with VRR and 100% sRGB, rated at 400 nits (389 nits measured in review testing)
- Thunderbolt 4 and a 20Gbps USB-C port, plus HDMI 2.1, two USB-A ports and Gigabit Ethernet
- Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 SSD slots for upgrades; Lenovo lists up to 64GB of DDR5
- Over 12 hours of Wi-Fi browsing at 150 nits with the 64Wh battery in review testing
- Quiet under load: about 40dB(A) at maximum in review testing
Cons
- The reviewed unit shipped with single-channel RAM, which held back its integrated graphics, and its Core Ultra 7 255H settled at 28W, so Geekbench 6 multi-core came in around 12,000 versus about 15,400 for the average 255H laptop
- No SD card reader, and the reviewed unit used Wi-Fi 6E rather than Wi-Fi 7
- The 120Hz panel pushed idle power draw to about 11W in review testing, and its 400-nit rating was not reached
- Some configurations use a plastic keyboard deck, and the reviewed unit showed slight creaking
