Dell Pro Max 16
Dell Pro Max 16 (MC16250) is the base tier of Dell's 2025 16-inch Pro Max mobile workstations, below the Pro Max 16 Plus and Premium. CPUs run from Core Ultra 5 235H to Core Ultra 9 285H, with optional RTX PRO 500, 1000 or 2000 Blackwell graphics. Specs here are for the Core Ultra 7 255H, 16GB, 512GB model with Arc 140T graphics, a 1920x1200 display and a 64Wh battery.
Pros
- Memory (DDR5 SODIMM, up to 64GB) and M.2 SSD storage (up to 2TB) are configurable, with RAID 0 or 1 offered
- Wide port set: two Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, two USB-A (one with PowerShare), gigabit Ethernet, microSD and a headset jack, with optional smart card reader and nano-SIM
- Graphics can be stepped up from Intel integrated to RTX PRO 500, 1000 or 2000 Blackwell (6 to 8GB GDDR7) for GPU-heavy workstation tasks
- Over 10 hours of video playback at 180 nits in review testing from the 64Wh battery; a 96Wh battery is optional
- Full-size numeric keypad, a 1080p IR camera with presence detection and a privacy shutter, and a fingerprint reader in the default palmrest, with optional NFC
Cons
- The entry-level FHD+ 60Hz IPS panel covered only about 52% of sRGB in review testing, so it is poorly suited to color-critical work
- No dedicated charging port: power has to go through one of the two Thunderbolt 4 ports
- Dell's US configurator offers only non-touch LCD panels (FHD+ or QHD+), with no OLED or touch option
- Not a thin-and-light: 2.11kg at minimum and 19.08mm thick at the rear, up to 25.6mm at peak height
