A $549 card against a $1,999 one from the same generation: the 5090 doubles the 4K result (142 versus 70 FPS) — and costs 3.6 times more for it. The 5070 is the rational 1440p pick in the Blackwell lineup; its 12GB is the only real asterisk. The 5090 is not 3.6 times better at anything except VRAM-bound AI work, which is exactly the buyer it is priced for.
